#1 Scout is a very intelligent and adventurous character. Her intelligence far exceeds most people in her class. Even though she is very smart, she hates school because her teacher is preventing her from reading outside of class. Miss Carolina told Scout that she will have to "Undo the damage" that Scout was taught.

Delete1. The narrator in this novel is very opinionated. Scout is very smart, but she doesn't think before she talks. I think Scout would be able to get in trouble easily because she says what is on her mind.
ReplyDelete2. Atticus is a character that stood out to me right away. He stands out because he is a role model to Jem and Scout and he is their only parent. Atticus is very wise and it surprised me that he treats his housekeeper like she is a part of the family.
1. Scout seems to be the type of girl who just observes everything. She doesn't like to go up to the Radley house with Jem and Dill. She would always be the one who looks out to see if anyone is coming. She isn't like her brother Jem, she gets scared very easily. She also likes to ask questions a lot. She is very interested in Boo Radley, but doesn't like to go near that house.
ReplyDelete2. An event that stood out to me was the last day of summer vacation when Dill, Jem, and Scout went to go take a peak in the Radley House and ended up getting shot at by Boo Radley. Jem lost his pants in his flower garden and had to go back and get them. Boo Radley said if he ever hears another sound in his back yard he is going to fire and not aim high this time. This stood out to me because the situation with the gun worried me that the three of them will go back to that house even though they know Boo will shoot at them. Jem and Dill are really curious, especially with that Radley House, so they could end up wandering too far and getting killed.
#1-I think Scout is a very smart, kindhearted, young girl. She is very strong minded for being so young but she is kind of nosy. I think her curiosity might get the best of her and I don't think they should look any deeper into the Radley's past or they might get into big trouble.
ReplyDelete#2-The character that has amazed me the most has to have been Calpurnia. She has stood out to me the most because she has stepped into the children's life and has basically become there mother. I think this is amazing because she is only there maid so for her to step up like that was a huge responsibility and big help for Atticus. (Skylar)
1. The narrator is a curious and adventurous person. Always trying to find something to do, and something new to learn. She is observant, intelligent, and yet still a bit uneducated in some fields of learning. She has learned quickly when it comes to reading, yet doesn't know how to treat or talk to guest. For her age she has progressed very far, but still lacks manners.
ReplyDelete2. A character that stands out to me is Little Chuck Little, a complete opposite of Burris Ewell. A child who acts like an adult, and thinks like an adult too. He seems educated and well mannered for such a young person. His character does stand out among the rest of the bunch. Even though each character differs, his is one that caught my attention.

ReplyDelete1.) My opinions of Scout is she is very smart. She also she is not afraid to say whatever and doesn't care who is listening. She also seems to let her feelings out and let people know how it really is. Finally, she is really nice to her brother and they play together.
2.) The one scene I think stood out to me was the one where Jem told Scout that she cant play with him at school. This stood out to me because it is true with brothers and sisters they really don't want anything to do with you when you are at school because to them its not cool.
1. I really enjoy Scout, she is a fun, loving, energetic kid who just wants to hang out with her brother and play games. I think it is really funny how she can get into so much trouble in such a small town. My thoughts on Scout is that she is a very intelligent person who can be a little mischievous at times, but in the end she has a good heart.
ReplyDelete2. "You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view," I think this is a very powerful quote because it is so true. We often find ourselves judging other people for what they look like but do we really understand where they have been.

ReplyDelete1. I think that Scout is a very curious girl. Scout is very intelligent and loves reading. I like Scout as a character because she keeps the plot interesting.
2. A part that stood out to me was when Scout's brother invited Walter over for lunch. Scout was not thrilled with the fact that Walter was at their house eating with them. Walter put syrup all over his food, because he is poor and doesn't have syrup at his house.
1.) Scout as a narrator so far is a very straight foreword person who has her opinion when talking. In the story she explained how she really felt about Walter but Calpurnia told Scout to knock it off for being smart and mouthy. My opinions of Scout so far is that she is a very bold person who is super smart and doesn't let anyone get in her way.
ReplyDelete2.) One scene that has really stood out to me was when Scout tried to explain to Miss. Caroline that Walter was a Cunningham but Miss. Caroline wasn't understanding what Scout was trying to say. It stood out to me because Scout was only trying to help but she didn't understand how she was explaining it. Scout only was trying to help but it didn't work out to well and realized that Miss. Caroline doesn't understand everyone's background in Maycomb County.
1. Scout is a very interesting character because she is very curious and asking a lot of question.
ReplyDelete2. A scene that stood out to me was when Burris Ewell went to leave class and Miss Caroline said for him to sit back down and Burris said you try and make me, missus. Stood out because probably no one has ever told him to sit back down when he was going to leave for the whole school year.

1) I think that Scout is a unique character. She is childish and fun-loving in a rough time period and that is something that adds to her character. I think that scout is a very wild child. I believe this because scout is very adventurous and is often getting into trouble anywhere she goes.
ReplyDelete2) Something that stood out to me is when Jem told Scout not to interact with him at school. This stood out to me because it reminds me a lot of my brother telling me something similar to that when we first started school.

ReplyDelete1) Scout is a very bold person. She isn't afraid to show who she really is and she knows how to stand up to people. It could be shown when she stood up to tell the teacher about the Cunningham family, when she criticized Walter at the table or even all the times she has argued with Calpurnia. I also think that Scout is really smart because she knows how to read and write even though she was never actually been taught to do so.
2) One person that stood out to me the most so far is Little Chuck Little. The reason that Little Chuck stood out to me is because of how he acts during school. He is very kind towards the teacher and acts like a gentlemen but then we find out that he is poor. If I had to guess whether Little Chuck was poor or had money I wouldn't have chosen poor. The main reason that I found this surprising is that the other kids in poor families,so far, have either been shy or mean during school. I have noticed that usually the proper children are raised with money so I found Little Chuck's attitude interesting.
1. I think Scout is very opinionated about things. She asks questions because she is young and shes very curious. I think Scout is learning a lot by just seeing her surroundings and paying attention to everyone else. She is very young and doesn't know quite how to treat guest or new people, but she is learning.
ReplyDelete2. Calpurnia stood out to me because when Walter Cunningham came over on their lunch break, Calpurnia told Scout that Walter is their company so treat him with respect. Let him eat whatever he wants. This stood out to me because when you have company over, you are suppose to treat them with lots of respect. I was glad to see Cal say something because Walter has never had syrup before and he was just eating a lot while he could.
i think Scout is a curious young girl who is just exploring the world around her. She is a young girl who loves to explore new things even things she shouldn't. she is very outgoing and energized as well.
ReplyDelete#2 Calpurnia was one character that stood out to me because when the children came home for lunch break Scout started to act out. No one really stood up and told Scout what she was doing wrong until Calpurnia took leadership and brought Scout into the kitchen to tell her what she was doing wrong. Although Calpurnia is an African American maid, she is also a mother figure to both Scout and Jem.
ReplyDeletewhen they go knock on the house and Jem runs "for his life" because it sets the way the house is seen in the rest of the book and how Dill watches the house all the time and always is a little over curious about things. then how they are horrified of the stories they have to tell about boo Radley and the Radley house about it being haunted.
ReplyDelete1.} I think that scout is a very curious girl. She asks a lot of questions because she wants to be ale to know what is happening around her. Someone who asks questions like scout is usually bound to be very intelligent and bright when older.
ReplyDelete2.}One action that stood out to me is when James "Jem" Finch learns an important lesson about courage from Mrs. Dubose. i think it was an important action to create a stronger base to the story.
What questions does Scout ask? I don't believe we have met Mrs. Dubose nor had any lessons from her yet. Where would you have gotten this info.?

ReplyDelete1. Scout seems to be a very intelligent and curious girl for her young age. I can tell that she is very curious because of how she questions she asks and how smart she is when it comes to reading and writing. She knows how to speak her opinion very well for a girl at that young of an age. This is a good and bad thing for the future, because it could get her into trouble but it could help her when it comes to standing up for what she believes in.
2. One thing that stood out to me was when Walter came over for lunch and dumped syrup all over his food. Scout thought that this was the weirdest thing, but then Calpurnia steps in and tells scout to treat her guests with respect and let them eat whatever they'd like. This stood out to me because of the fact that Calpurnia stepped in and old scout the right thing to do, and it was a learning moment for Scout. This also stood out to me because of the fact that Walter was poor and didn't get to have things like syrup at his own home.
I think that Scout is very smart and opinionated. Scout knows how to read when others don't at age 6. She loves to read although her teacher doesn't think to highly of it, which causes her to have some opinions about whether or not she should listen to her teacher or her brain. When she told her dad she didn't seem happy at all and hated it. Scout is a very intelligent person and doesn't like getting told what to do.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that stood out to me so far is when Scout could read. At Scout's age i was surprisingly quiet and didn't talk much. Scout needs to definitely get put in a higher class or be in a faster or smarter group. When her teacher told her that she needs to stop having her dad teach her how to read i was very surprised. A teacher should not be saying that to a student no matter what in my opinion, I understand where the teacher is coming from but still. Scout should stand up to the teacher and get even better at reading.
I think scout is a mysterious character. I think she is a very smart girl that is just curious-
ReplyDeleteSyler
What really stood out for me is that she is very smart and a good reader, it blew my mind
ReplyDelete1. I think Scout is a very curious girl for her age, and I think this could get her into trouble later in life. She is very smart with her reading and writing abilities at the age of six, and it's very impressive. Her curiosity can be good and bad for her future because being too curious could get her in trouble in a town like this.
ReplyDelete2. Something that stood out to me was how much of a mother figure that Calpurnia is to Jem and Scout. She was very quick to scold scout when she judged alter Cunningham, but I didn't know she was respected that much by the kids.
